WFTV members’ projects through to next stage of Microwave
Producers and WFTV members Emma Duffy and Jude Goldrei have made it through to the Further Development phase of Film London’s micro-budget film initiative, Microwave.
Emma (pictured right) is the producer on Mari, a film about female identity and expectation that will blend dance with drama. The film is written and directed by Georgia Parris (pictured left), a good friend of WFTV having worked for and volunteered with the organisation in previous years.
Jude is the producer of Smalltown Boy, a rite of passage story about a different type of skinhead. The writer/director is Alex Winckler, and Maria Forsstrom is also producing.
Six projects in total were selected, out of an original twelve, and will all now receive additional funding and mentoring while they work on refining their ideas. Positively, three of the six projects have all-female teams, and across the spread there are five female directors.
