WFTV member Rubika Shah’s debut feature White Riot receives Creative England funding

Congratulations to WFTV member and director Rubika Shah whose debut feature, White Riot (working title) is one of three projects to be awarded funding in the latest round from Creative England’s Production Fund.

Set against the backdrop of British punk, White Riot is about music, politics and fanzine culture in the late 1970s. Rubika’s companion-piece documentary short premiered at Sundance in January before going on to Berlin, Tribeca and Sheffield Doc/Fest.

Rubika was supported in development by Creative England’s lottery funded emerging talent strand as part of the BFI Network. White Riot will go into production this year, and is currently looking to close finance in Cannes.
