WFTV Member Rachel Shenton Wins Oscar
WFTV member Rachel Shenton has picked up the Best Live Action Short Film Award at the Oscars for The Silent Child. Rachel wrote and co-stars in the the film, which centres around a profoundly deaf four year old girl named Libby who is born into a middle class family and lives in a world of silence until a caring social worker teaches her the gift of communication. It is directed by Rachel’s partner, Chris Overton and also stars profoundly deaf 6-year old Maisie Sly.
