WFTV Short Film Club

Made by members, for members; WFTV Short Film Club is a series of in-person, short film screenings around the UK.

Each WFTV Short Film Club session will screen a collection of member-made short films, followed by the opportunity to meet new and familiar faces in a relaxed, social environment.

Our next Short Film Club will take place on Tuesday 22 October 2024 in London and we are open for submissions.

Submission Guidelines

Entry requirements

We will accept any form of short film (narrative, animation, documentary etc.)

The film you intend to submit must have a total run time of 20 minutes or less (including opening and closing credits).

Entries must have been produced after 1st January 2022. We will not consider any films that have been made beforehand.

We accept films in all languages. Films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English unless dialogue or commentary is unnecessary for comprehension and appreciation.

There is no premiere requirement. We will accept submissions of films that have been previously screened elsewhere, including other film club screenings and festivals.

Films that have been screened at previous WFTV Film Club screenings are ineligible for submission.

Film submissions must be completed with final edits. We will not accept rough cuts or works in progress.

Submitting your film

We ask for a secure screening link and password for viewing consideration. If you make any updates to links or passwords, please inform us via montana@wftv.org.uk and we will update your record so we can consider your film.

Please ensure the link or password to your video does not expire.

If you do not have an online link and would like to submit your film in another format, please contact us.

If your films have subtitles, please ensure these are integrated into the image.

During the selection process, WFTV reserves the right to download the films submitted by online links for its offline viewing. These downloads will be exclusively for internal use by the WFTV team for selection purposes.

The deadline to submit your short for the October 2024 WFTV Film Club will be by 18:00 (GMT) on Tuesday 8 October.

Screening your film

Fees

There is no fee to submit your film to the WFTV Film Club 2024. Submissions are to be made by existing WFTV members only.

Selection Process

The WFTV team will review the submissions and the WFTV Short Film Club programme will be at the discretion of the team.

All submissions are watched in their entirety twice by different members of the WFTV team. The date of submission has no reflection on our selection decisions.

If your film has been selected for the October 2024 WFTV Film Club, you will be notified by email by 18:00 on Friday 11 October.

This WFTV Film Club screening will be held on Tuesday 22 October, 18:30 – 21:00 at Genesis Cinema, Mile End, London. Please note that although the video and audio quality has been tested and is excellent, the playlist may not be converted into DCP format. The purpose of WFTV Film Club is to screen films and bring members together in a relaxed and social environment.
