Record-breaking success for Jane Gull’s My Feral Heart

L-R: Writer Duncan Paveling, Actor Steven Brandon, Director Jane Gull

It’s been an auspicious couple of weeks for WFTV member Jane Gull, whose breakout hit film My Feral Heart has just become the UK’s most successful ‘cinema on demand’ film of all time. The team behind the film used people-powered cinema platform Our Screen to self-distribute the film, showing once again that failing to pick up a distributor is by no means the end of a film’s chances of a big-screen release and a big impact.

Film critic Mark Kermode, who has been a champion of the film, has covered this landmark for the indie film in an edition of his vlog.

And if that weren’t enough cause for celebration, My Feral Heart also picked up three awards at the Lift-Off Awards held at Pinewood Film Studios. The film won the Best

feature Film Award, Jane picked up the Best Director Award, and lead actor Steven Brandon won the Best Actor gong. Huge congratulations to Jane and everyone involved in the film.

If you haven’t yet seen My Feral Heart then you can book a ticket via Our Screen for a showing at Crouch End Picturehouse, midday on Saturday 4 February.
