The prestigious Women in Film & Television Awards 2022 ceremony, in partnership with Sky, took place at London Hilton Park Lane to celebrate the work, success and achievements of women in front of and behind the camera.
The 2022 ceremony saw Davina McCall, Claire Rushbrook, a BAFTA Breakthrough winner and founder of The British Blacklist amongst winners.
Now in its 31st year, the Women in Film & Television Awards saw comedian, writer, presenter and actress Katherine Ryan host for the first time, honouring the much-admired and worthy winners across 14 categories including directing, writing, producing, performance, business and contribution to the medium.
Guests at the star-studded event also included Adjoa Andoh, Anita Rani, Anne-Marie Duff, Christopher Eccleston, Dermot O’Leary, Dolly Alderton, Greg Rusedski, Jessica Hynes, Lesley Sharp, Madeline Brewer, Sharon Duncan Brewster and more.
Legendary presenter and tennis player Sue Barker CBE, received The EON Productions Lifetime Achievement Award, with Greg Rusedski handing her the accolade.
Sue Barker CBE joins a commanding list of previous Women in Film & Television Lifetime Achievement award-winners, including Baroness Floella Benjamin, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Sheila Hancock, Katherine Hepburn, Glenda Jackson CBE, Dame Helen Mirren, Dame Joanna Lumley, Dame Esther Rantzen, Dame Vanessa Redgrave and Dame Maggie Smith.
TV presenter and campaigner Davina McCall also accepted The EIKON Presenter Award, handed to her by Kate Garraway for her work on Channel 4's Davina McCall: Sex, Mind and the Menopause and ITV's The Masked Singer.
Daniel Mays presented The Argonon Best Performance Award to actor Claire Rushbrook, an honour that reflects her incredible work on screen in films like Ali & Ava and TV series like Sherwood.
Having written a crucial report for the Sir Lenny Henry Centre for Media Diversity on Diversity in post-production sound roles in UK television production, Emma Butt was presented with The ITV Studios Achievement of the Year Award by AJ Odudu.
Additionally, the UK’s best behind the scenes talent were applauded at the Women in Film & Television Awards 2022, with Nida Manzoor (We Are Lady Parts director), Nicola Daley (cinematographer for The Handmaid's Tale and Benediction), Claire Newton (Hollyoaks and Peaky Blinders location manager), Kayleigh Llewellyn (In My Skin writer), Ramita Navai (journalist, author and documentary filmmaker), Akua Gyamfi (founder of The British Blacklist), Nanita Desai (composer for For Sama and The Reason I Jump), Surian Fletcher-Jones (Everything I Know About Love producer), Nadine Marsh-Edwards (producer of Bhaji on the Beach and Been So Long) and Nicôle Lecky (creator and star of Mood) all winning big on the night in recognition of their craft and how they are all blazing their own paths in the creative media industry.
Speaking at the Women in Film & Television Awards, CEO Katie Bailiff said

This year’s ceremony also saw a wealth of talent attending to celebrate the achievements of some of the most prolific women in the film and television industry, guests included Adjoa Andoh, Anita Rani, Anne-Marie Duff, Christopher Eccleston, Dermot O’Leary, Dolly Alderton, Greg Rusedski, Jessica Hynes, Lesley Sharp, Madeline Brewer, Sharon Duncan Brewster and more. Entertainment performances during the awards ceremony came courtesy of Miriam Teak-Lee, star of West End musical & Juliet.
