For October’s Writers’ Group, we will be joined by script writer/ editor and series creator Catherine Williams for a session focused on writing for pre-school audiences.
In conversation with Agent Christina Pickworth, Catherine will be discussing her journey into the industry and career so far, sharing her experience writing for pre-school audiences on shows such as Chip and Potato (Netflix), PJ Masks and the New Teletubbies (Cbeebies), and offering tips to other writers considering working in this area.

Catherine Williams, Script writer/editor, Series Creator
After a short stint in ‘grown up’, Catherine soon realised she was far more attuned to kids TV and has been regressing ever since… By now she is a prolific, successful script writer/editor and series creator, specialising in pre-school. She has an impressive list of multi award-winning, top-rated and much loved credits, including Chip and Potato (Netflix), Waffle the Wonder Dog, Topsy+Tim, and the New Teletubbies (all on Cbeebies), Pocoyo, PJ Masks, and most recently, Lovely Little Farm (Apple TV).

Christina is an agent for writers and directors at a small, bespoke agency Imagine Talent, with a list that focuses on emerging talent and female voices. Christina has written feature films, consulted for production companies and financiers, and freelanced at United Agents, as well as spending several years working in film development finance for a fund that invested in 300 British film projects over three years. Christina has previously sat on the selection committee for the BAFTA Rocliffe screenwriting competitions, and she consults for Stage 32, Industrial Scripts and Reel One Entertainment.
How will the online event work?
This event will be live streamed via Zoom.us. Viewing details will be sent via your confirmation.
Attending participants will not be visible to others and will be muted throughout the session. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask their questions to the panel by using the Q&A feature.
