WFTV Writers’ Group: In Conversation with Jessica Jones – Script Editor & Development Consultant
Thursday 19 September 2019 | 18:30 – 20:30
St Anne’s Church | 55 Dean Street | Soho | London W1D 6AF
For September’s session, join WFTV Writers Group Producer Christina Pickworth in welcoming Jessica Jones, Script Editor and Development Consultant.
Have you been endlessly applying to new writing competitions or sending your scripts out to production companies with no response? Want to know what makes a script stand out for all the right reasons, and what makes it stands out for all the wrong reasons? Jessica will draw on her experience in a range of development roles at indies and broadcasters, as well as in reading for schemes like 4Screenwriting and BBC Writersroom, to shed some light on what makes an effective and arresting spec script.
Jessica Jones currently works as a Development Exec for TV company Bonafide, and is script editing on several features in development with, among others, the BFI, Film Cymru, and Televisione Svizzera, as well as regularly consulting on projects for BFI NETWORK. Previously she has worked as an in-house Script Editor for the BFI Film Fund, and in development teams for BBC Drama Commissioning, Channel4 Drama, and Colin Firth’s Raindog Films.
