WFTV Writers Group: In Conversation with Georgia Goggin

13th February 2019 18:30

Wednesday 13 February| 6:30pm – 8:30pm (session starts 7pm) |Theatres Trust, 22 Charing Cross Road

The WFTV Writers’ Group meets each month for an informal gathering to give writers a chance to share experiences, swap tips, and reconnect with the world for a couple of hours.

For February’s meeting, join WFTV Writers Group Producer Christina Pickworth in welcoming Georgia Goggin.

Short films are a wonderful way to gain film-making experience and learn your craft, but are also a brilliant medium in their own right – a chance to tell stories and show points of view that might not otherwise make it onto screens – whatever your experience. They are a chance to showcase talent and ideas on smaller, more accessible budgets, and of course are an opportunity to bring something from script to screen in a far more immediate way than the time it takes to make a feature. Shorts producer Georgia Goggin joins us to talk about her experience of making award-winning short films and offer her advice on her dos and don’ts for shorts success.

Georgia Goggin

Georgia and Dionne are now developing their debut feature with the BFI and Sundance Institute. Georgia’s slate includes a dramedy from writer/director Alice Seabright and an adaptation of a young adult novel by Julie Mayhew. Georgia is also a producer of The Uncertain Kingdom project which will see twenty filmmakers create shorts about the UK in 2019.
