WFTV Women in Tech: Camera and Lighting – Steadicam

14th September 2020 18:00

Monday 14 September | 18:00-19:00

In this new WFTV camera and lighting strand we will be running webinars and workshops; and hearing from a range of leading experts in the field. It will cover everything from how to achieve the perfect shot to workshops on lighting, lenses and camera equipment. We will also have interviews with award winning cinematographers and a range of other industry professionals.

Join us for the first event in this new series which will explore the role and work of the Steadicam operator.

Chaired by Sally Smith, a freelance camera operator and director and former WFTV Mentee, this session is aimed at operators who are interested in making a move over to Steadicam and also for production personnel who want to learn more about using this specialist kit for their film and television projects. The event will also look at the role Steadicam can play in storytelling and will offer tips and techniques to get the best out of your Steadicam shoot.

Sally will be in conversation with Ilana Garrard, a camera and Steadicam operator, who is one of the few women currently specialising in Steadicam work in the UK.
