Speakers Rosemary Newell (Director of Programming and Strategy, ITV), Natalie Tandoh (Marketing and Communications Manager, ScreenSkills), Imrun Islam (Senior Manager, Content Distribution) and Dayna Donaldson (Vice President Content Sales, The Walt Disney Company) will be discussing how to forge careers in Programming, Distribution and Marketing.

Rosemary Newell is ITV’s Director of Programming and Strategy, responsible for scheduling across the ITV Portfolio. Rosemary joined ITV in May 2016 as Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, responsible for running ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, CITV, ITV Encore and ITVBe, as well as acquired programming across the network, before taking over the role of Director of Programme Strategy in January 2017.

Previously Senior Vice President, Programming and Content Operations, Discovery Networks International, Rosemary Newell is a highly experienced television executive with a strong background in managing channel portfolio strategy and schedules. With two decades of experience across BBC, Channel 4 and Discovery, Newell’s previous roles have included Scheduler roles at BBC2 and then BBC1, before moving to Channel 4 as Head of Programme Planning and Strategy, before rising to Controller, Broadcasting, and Head of Channel Management, with responsibility for managing the schedules across Channel 4’s entire portfolio of channels. At Discovery, Rosemary has managed the international content pipeline for DNI’s 220 markets.

Natalie Tandoh is a Senior Marketing Manager with a background in international television distribution. She started off her career as an over-enthusiastic marketing & promotions intern at Lionsgate in Los Angeles, setting her on the path for a lifetime obsession with film and television content. After 8 years at Disney Media Distribution managing ongoing pre- and post-sale marketing planning and publicity activity for broadcasters and platforms across EMEA, she moved to ITV Studios, first working on publicity for their co-production slate, then as a Head of Marketing for Americas & Asia Pacific.

Currently, she is marketing and communications manager at ScreenSkills, the industry-led skills body for the UK’s screen-based creative industries. ScreenSkills work across the whole of the country to  ensure that UK screen has access now, and in the future, to the skills and talent needed to feed its continued growth and success.

Imrun Islam is a Senior Manager in content distribution, acquisition and negotiation – specialising in Film and TV content distribution for all VOD rights, and Account Management for digital platforms. Imrun moved into sales after learning about content distribution at Content Media. After almost four years at Disney Media Distribution, negotiating and managing key TVOD/EST distribution deals, Imrun now manages the Transactional and SVOD business for the UK and Ireland for Studiocanal.

Dayna Donaldson is currently responsible for devising and implementing Disney’s content licencing strategy across all windows to broadcasters and on demand services across the UK, Ireland and the Nordics for the company’s rich portfolio of feature films and series (which as of March 2019 includes the Fox content portfolio).  Prior to this role, Dayna’s remit was to deliver Disney’s Media P&L across channel carriage, series and feature films licensing and digital transactional and subscription on demand in the UK and Ireland. She is an expert in devising, leading and implementing complex transformative initiatives and rights negotiations across a full programming portfolio from ABC Studios, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Disney Channels, Freeform and ABC News.

Before joining Disney in 2007, Dayna was the Head of Sales for Minotaur International (former distribution arm of Virgin Media) from 2003 – 2007.  Originally from the States, Dayna worked in the independent production community in New York distributing films and non-scripted series across the US media landscape from 1992-2003.
