The television and film industry is like no other and its insurance needs are distinct and unusual. TV, Film, Webisode and Theatre Producers are responsible for the creation and production of content from the conception, research and development phase right through to first exhibition, and with this brings substantial risks from anyone and anywhere in the world both pre and post COVID-19.

In this session, Claire Templeton of Beazley and Rhona Alsworth of Tysers will be providing an update on the current and ongoing insurance position for Production Insurance, the new challenges for getting cover under COVID-19 and the next steps once your production has it sorted. They will also be sharing an overview of the key cover and benefits for E&O Insurance and why it is important when producing content, including podcasts and streamed content.


Claire Templeton, Media and Entertainment Underwriter, Beazley

With over 15 years’ experience in the media sector and over 20 years’ in insurance, she specialises in liability arising from the publication/broadcast of content, including copyright and trademark, breach of confidence, privacy and libel.  Her career in insurance began at Hiscox before moving to Beazley in 2015 to help build their media and entertainment portfolio.

Rhona Alsworth, Associate Director, Tysers

Rhona Alsworth is an Insurance specialist with over 17 years’ experience servicing the Entertainment and Media Industry, providing insurance advice & risk solutions for Film & Television productions. Over this period, she has worked on major television broadcaster schemes, with large production companies as well as with studio and independent films.

Her experience includes advising on all manner of productions globally, from major drama series, sitcoms, soaps, reality shows, game shows, sporting events to documentaries. This has involved placing various lines of cover including Production Insurances, Errors and Omissions, Essential Element, Personal Accident, Political Risks, Adverse Weather & Film Union Travel insurance.
