Searching for the perfect music to enhance your production? Confused by the myriad of choices? Budget and commercial considerations? Worried about rights and which ones to clear? Join Music for TV Entrepreneur Juliette Squair for a 30 minute basic guide to music rights to arm you with the knowledge to make the best music choices for you and your production. Juliette will be joined by guest Rights expert Alisha Lazare from C4.
Juliette Squair, co-founded The Nerve in January 2020, a standout new music resource for the TV industry. She has over 30 years of experience in the TV production and music industry. She started her career as a Production Assistant at LWT followed by freelance Production Management roles in the Indie Sector for over 10 years. She went on to lead music library Audio Network from a small startup in 2002 to an established global music brand. Audio Network was sold to Eone Entertainment in 2019. She was also an investor and Deputy CEO of TRX, an online rights trading platform from 2016-2019.
Alisha Lazare, Rights Manager, Commercial Affairs Department at Channel 4, licensing music for in-house promotional trailers and clearing all copyrights in programmes for repeat transmissions and secondary exploitation.
Her first role with a broadcaster was in the Music Department at Sky, where she started as a Copyright Clerk submitting music returns. This eventually led to working on blanket licence clearances and licensing directly with rights holders. A move to the Commercial Rights Department at the BBC followed, and then some years spent in a more operational role at A+E Networks UK, before moving to Channel 4 and back in to the world of Rights.

How will the online event work?

Participants accessing the live stream will have their audio muted on arrival, you will not be visible to the other participants. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for a Q&A with live stream participants.
