One of the most important and high profile issues to emerge in the theatre and screen industries in recent years has been the calls for better practise both in the direction and performance of intimate scenes on set and on stage, and in our industry as a whole. The spotlight has very much turned to the role of the Intimacy Co-ordinator/Director who ensures that best practice is adhered to. Elizabeth (Lizzy) Talbot is a certified Intimacy Coordinator and Intimacy Director, working in Theatre and Television/ Film and is currently working on Bridgerton (Netflix), The Never’s (HBO), The Witcher Series 2 (Netflix) and The Girlfriend Experience (Starz). This video will be a great opportunity for you to hear the expert (Lizzy) help you apply her tips to your working practice.
Lizzy Talbot is a certified Intimacy Coordinator and Intimacy Director represented by New Wonder Management. She implements best practices on set to address scenes of intimacy and nudity in a manner that is safe, professional and effective and that enhances this particular area of physical storytelling. Working in Theatre and Television/ Film, she is the founder of the Intimacy Directors International UK (IDI-UK) responsible for promoting best intimacy practice and sexual harassment prevention to the staged and screen industries in the UK. She is also a certified teacher with the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat and has choreographed violence professionally in the UK and the USA and regularly teaches workshops in both combat and intimacy. Recent credits include ‘Bridgerton (Netflix), The Nevers (HBO), The Witcher 2 (Netflix).
