WFTV Finance 1-2-1: Advice from experts at Moore Kingston Smith

At WFTV, we know that for many of our members this is a particularly worrying time financially, so from the 2 April we will be running a regular financial advice hotline with experts from Moore Kingston Smith, a firm of chartered accountants and leading business advisors. 

Val Cazalet, Partner at Moore Kingston Smith will be hosting the Finance Hotline over the next few weeks. She will be joined by two of her colleagues Claire Robinson and Ian Higgins, Senior Managers at Moore Kingston Smith who will be assisting in answering your queries.

With 30 years’ experience of working with individuals and companies in many areas of the creative sector, and with a particular interest in film and television, Val has a detailed understanding of the issues her media clients face and always takes a hands-on, practical and proactive approach.

Val works with a range of creative businesses, including AIM-listed companies, SMEs, groups of companies and individuals. She offers advice that is tailored to each client’s specific need and her media experience includes clients in brand design, advertising, events management, production and special effects, internet and technology, PR, radio as well as film and TV. 

She is a board member and treasurer of both Women in Film and TV and Animated Women.


Claire Robinson, Senior Tax Manager at Moore Kingston Smith

Claire is a specialist senior tax manager with a breadth of experience in advising clients on the key corporation tax issues affecting businesses in the media and entertainment sectors.

Claire has a specific knowledge of the creative industry tax reliefs as well as expertise in in dealing with corporate expansion in the UK and overseas, withholding tax issues, company restructures, employee share schemes, M&A transactions and compliance aspects.

Claire is an associate of the ICAEW and Chartered Institute of Taxation.
