WFTV Event: Parents, Carers and those Returning to Work: Mince Pies & Mingle

Mince pie season is truly upon us, and we’d love to invite you along to a to share a seasonal treat and hear from some fantastic speakers.
WFTV want to help our members feel confident and supported about returning to work, either back into a full-time role, or resuming self-employment after a career break. This mid-morning, career and life coaching workshop, is aimed at parents and carers who may have taken time out of work, or are simply looking for some support from like-minded individuals with caring responsibilities.
We’ll be joined by the following ladies to provide a jam-packed, collaborative affirmation of your strengths, filled with practical tips and techniques, both personal and professional for making these transitions back into work as easy as possible.
Cheryl Woodcock – Talent Exec, ITV, Career Coach and Trainee Counsellor
As the Talent Executive, Cheryl oversees every part of the ITV Entertainment & Possessed team, their strategy and processes. Always on the look out for the best Talent (Researchers up to Execs), Cheryl works across shows such as Love Island, Saturday Night Takeaway, The Voice, I’m a Celebrity, Cheryl loves coaching and developing people and getting them their dream job.
Cheryl moved over to Talent Management in 2011 and is really passionate about job sharing & retaining talent in the industry. After becoming a Mum to Noah in 2016, she has started coaching mums/mum to be at ITV and runs a Telly Mums Network group with over 570 members which also holds events for Freelancers. Cheryl is thrilled to be working with WFTV and is planning to offer more support to TV Mums to Be/Mums in the industry, starting with coaching and workshops through Screenskills in 2020.
Nicola Gibb – Founder of Beyond the Bump Coaching
A trained and certified, Co-Active Coach, accredited by the ICF. Nicola helps women move forward, from whatever stuck place they find themselves in – that could be the stickiness of motherhood, redundancy, separation or divorce, a bereavement, a life change or simply the realisation that so much has shifted and realignment is desperately needed. It could be that your work-life alignment needs redressing and you feel you don’t have the choice to make this happen. More info here.
Lauren Evans – Talent Manager ITV
As the Talent Manager for ITV Ents and Possessed, Lauren oversees off screen talent, from researcher up to Executive Producer, across a broad range of productions including I’m a Celeb, Soap Awards, Royal Variety Performance, The Voice and Dancing on Ice. Meeting new TV Freelancers, is key to the role, to ensure ITV is provided with fresh and fantastic talent and therefore making the best content possible!
Lauren is thrilled to join the ITV Talent Team, and hopes to put her 10+ years of production experience to good use and help find the next generation of TV talent.
Jessica Wilson – Talent Exec – Potato (part of ITV Studios) & Career and Nutrition Coach
Jessica joined ITV as a Talent Executive in March 2014 for Potato, who make shows such as The Chase, Ninja Warrior, & Autopsy. Before moving into Talent, Jessica had many years production experience in factual and entertainment, observational documentary and format development.
Jessica is a member of the RTS Futures Committee and she is actively involved in events across the industry to encourage and support new and diverse talent.
Rosalind Malthouse – Talent Exec – Multi Story Media (part of ITV Studios)
Ros joined the company as Talent Exec in 2018 with a remit to find and secure the best talent for MultiStory in London. She is always keen to hear from new and established talent, at every level and in every genre. Multi Story have a varied slate of programmes including Paul O’Grady For the Love of Dogs, Come Dine With Me, Gino’s Italian Escape, Peston, Martin Lewis Money Show and so on.
One of the most rewarding parts of Ros’s job is making MultiStory one of the best places to work in TV, as recognised by Broadcast. This is something she also achieved during her two years as Talent Manager at betty. Before moving into talent, Ros was a Senior Producer and Director in Factual Entertainment.
Michelle James Reynolds – Director, Share My Telly Job
Michelle joined Share My Telly Job following a 17 year career as a Producer and Director in Factual and Entertainment Television in the UK and the US.
In 2018 and 2019 she worked as the High-End TV Manager for ScreenSkills running CPD programmes including a successful Return to Work scheme in Post and VFX with Film London.
Michelle now works for Share My telly Job full-time and is passionate about promoting job-sharing as a way of keeping talented, experienced and diverse freelancers in an industry they love.
Valeria Bullo – Production Consultant, Independent Producer and Founder of CineMamas
She is currently working as a freelance production consultant and independent producer. Valeria is the founder of CineMamas; an online platform officially launching in 2020 aimed at helping job-sharing and encouraging flexibility in the film industry. The platform will support parents and carers transitioning back into the industry. It will focus on those wanting to job share, by providing valuable information and helping them find someone to buddy up with, but also assist producers and HoDs to manage job sharing crew.
Please join us for some festive treats and a morning of mingling! For those of you with young children, as with all of our events, you are welcome to bring them along. We’ll have baby-friendly floor covering for those partial to a roll around, but you’ll need to bring some toys along.
The venue us wheelchair and pushchair friendly and is located on the ground floor.
