WFTV Event: A New Approach to Getting Your Project Funded – Distributor Led Commissioning

19th March 2019 18:30

Tuesday 19 March  | 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm| Theatres Trust

In tonight’s event, we are going to explore a completely new commissioning model and find out how you can get a distributor to fully fund your film. Traditionally, programme proposals have usually been commissioned by broadcasters.  But Hannah Demidowicz, Commissioning Editor at the distributor TCB Media Rights, will reveal to host Liz Tucker, Chair of WFTV, the radically different approach her company is taking. It, along with a number of other distributors, have now started to fully fund projects before they have been commissioned.

So how exactly does this work and  could this be a model that could work for your projects?  And what sorts of programmes are being commissioned? To find out more,  join us on Tuesday 19 March at 6.30 pm.

Hannah Demidowicz

Hannah is a commissioning editor at the distributor TCB who were one of the first distributors to fully fund projects before they had been commissioned. Last year, her company full funded around 15 projects on a wide range of subjects from history to science to obs docs. Prior to working at TCB, Hannah worked in commissioning at BBC Worldwide and National Geographic.
