WFTV are delighted to offer members an exclusive opportunity to participate in a Self-Tape Bootcamp with casting director, Manuel Puro.

Self-taping is a fantastic way for actors to audition for roles remotely as well as an opportunity to experiment, flex your acting muscles and create fresh work to include in your showreel.

In this online event, Manuel will set three different self-tape exercises each increasing in level of difficulty. During a set time frame, you will have the opportunity to attempt as many of the exercises as you like and to submit your self-tapes for feedback from Manuel and other participants in the event.

On Friday 17 July, in a live Q&A with Manuel you will have the chance to put your questions to him directly and find out how to nail that self-tape!

To access the Self-Tape Bootcamp, you will need to create a login to The Acting Habit, an online platform which will take you through the steps on how to film and upload your self-tape. You will receive details of how to create a login in your Eventbrite confirmation email.

On Friday 10 July the event will begin. You will be provided with a choice of three short audition pieces – you can choose to attempt as many as you like within the time frame available – submissions for all three pieces close on Wednesday 15 July at midnight.

Manuel will then provide general technical feedback on some of the uploaded self-tape submissions via a video blog on Thursday 16 July, highlighting common pitfalls and giving tips on how to improve framing, eyelines and other aspects of the self tapes.
