“You are experienced at creating great content and want to take it to the next level by setting up your own production company, but how do you go about establishing an Indie?

Book a 1-2-1 slot at our surgery with Sue Taylor from Arbuthnot Latham & Co, Kate Barekati from ECOVIS Wingrave Yeats  and Tessa Laws & Angharad Evans from Acuity Law, who will share useful insights in how to build your own production company and the important early pieces of the puzzle that will create solid foundations from which your Indie can grow.

 

Sue Taylor, Director, Media Commercial Banking

Sue’s career in Media began more than 25 years ago back in Soho Square and she works with people just starting out, as well as larger more established production companies and super indies.  Sue loves being a part of her client’s journey and watching them grow.  Arbuthnot Latham’s Media commercial banking team delivers a private banking-style service in a commercial banking marketplace to meet the day to day needs of owner-managed, independent media businesses.

 

Kate Barekati, Partner, ECOVIS Wingrave Yeats

Kate is a Partner at ECOVIS Wingrave Yeats, a full-service professional services firm based in Soho, having joined the Firm in 2007.  As the Head of Media & Entertainment team Kate blends her technical accounting and audit background with practical and relevant advice and training to support the journey of creative businesses, teaching her clients along the way.”

 

 

Tessa Laws – Partner, Acuity Law

Tessa heads up the creative team at Acuity Law, having supported and run media and creative businesses for some 20 years. Tessa has a real understanding of the day-to-day issues encountered by people working in the sector and has been instrumental in helping to launch companies through advising on legal necessities and assisting with funding introductions. She has a flair for deconstructing legal and strategic affairs, normalising them with her trademark flexible, approachable style. Tessa fits her modern, international practice and varied workload around the busy lives of her clients.

 

 

Angharad Evans, Consultant, Acuity Law

Angharad has recently joined the Acuity Creative team having worked in the film and television industry for over 18 years, most recently heading up the legal and business affairs team at a public service broadcaster. She has worked with broadcasters and established film and TV production companies as well as a variety of start-ups. Angharad will share her first-hand experience on a myriad of issues, from rights and financing considerations to compliance and distribution.

Surgeries will take place at the WFTV Office, 92-92 Great Russell Street, London, WC1B 3PS;  and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Each appointment will last between 20-25 minutes.
