WFTV Leeds: Networking and Mentoring Scheme Presentation
Unit 12b | Byron St Mills | Millwright Street | Leeds LS2 7QG | United Kingdom
Thursday, 19 September 2019 from 18:30 to 20:30
WFTV networking events are for members and anyone considering becoming a member, so please come along and join us in a friendly and informal setting to meet new people and hear more about WFTV and what we can offer.
Our second Leeds Networking is kindly being organised by our regional rep Lauren York from UK Locations.
We will be joined by WFTV Mentoring Scheme Producer Tracy Forsyth, who will be telling us more about our incredibly successful WFTV Mentoring Scheme in association with ScreenSkills; so if you want to find out if the scheme is right for you, come along to find out more. There will be a short presentation along with a few words from a current WFTV mentee who will be sharing her experience. They will also be on hand to answer all your burning questions throughout the evening. Applications for the 2020 scheme will open in September 2019. The programme is supported by ScreenSkills using National Lottery funds award by the BFI as part of the Future Film Skills Programme.
Tracy will also speak about the Pat Llewellyn Bursary, which awards four successful applicants £10,000 each to develop their factual entertainment or factual TV project; match them with an industry mentor; and offer the chance to meet with key decision-makers who have the potential to ‘greenlight’ their idea. Applications are open to any woman with a unique project and a passion for TV. You don’t need to have academic qualifications or industry contacts, we’re just looking for the most exciting ideas that would be suitable for commission by a UK TV broadcaster.
Tracy will also be sharing with us more information about Making It Possible 2019, a development programme run by Raising Films for parents or carers returning to work in the industry or looking to take the next step in their career. Applications are open to all film and TV practitioners with a minimum of two screen credits or three years experience in an industry role.
19:00 – 19:30 – Presentation about WFTV Membership, Mentoring Scheme in association with ScreenSkills, Pat Llewellyn Bursary and Making It Possible 2019
19:30 – 20:30 – Relaxed Networking
