BAFTA Elevate directors announced!

The 15 directors selected for the inaugural BAFTA Elevate scheme – which is focusing on female directors seeking to progress in high end television and features – have been announced…and what a talented bunch they are!

The calibre of the selected directors is undisputable, with an impressive list of credits and numerous top industry nominations and awards between them.

WFTV was particularly proud to see a number of members included: 2015 WFTV mentee Christiana Ebohon-Green, 2012 WFTV New Talent Award winner Sally El Hosaini, and members Delyth Thomas and Lindy Heymann. Ivana MacKinnon and Debs Paterson are also key contributors to the programme.

BAFTA states that the aim of Elevate is to help to address the gap between 50/50% male/female film school graduates and 87/13% male/female industry directing hires and producers’ desire to hire female directors but saying that they are often hard to find. The programme includes networking introductions, mentoring and expert workshops.
